Mark Sanchez Injured in New York Jets Preseason Tilt with the New York Giants

New York Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez was injured in the second half of their game against the New York Giants on Saturday evening. He exited the game after being on the receiving end of a hard hit by Marvin Austin of the Giants.

According to various reports, Sanchez is heading to the locker room for x-rays.

Rookie Geno Smith started the game and struggled a great deal. He completed 16-of-30 passes for 199 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions in extended playing time.

Sanchez and Smith are currently battling it out for the starting gig. If Sanchez’s injury proves to be serious, a strong possibility, then Rex Ryan’s decision could be made for him.

We will have updates as they become available.
