Colts offseason notes: LS Matt Overton selected to the Pro Bowl

The Indianapolis Colts may not have as many players in the Pro Bowl like the Cleveland Browns (last time I checked it was five players). However the Colts will be adding another player to the short list that will go to Hawaii. According to Mike Chappell of IndyStar.com, Colts long snapper Matt Overton has been selected to go to his first Pro Bowl of his career.

Of course there is still a possibility that Andrew Luck, who moved up to first alternate, will join both OLB Robert Mathis and LS Matt Overton to the Pro Bowl.

As stated in my other article, the Colts coaching staff will coach one of the teams at the Pro Bowl and it would be interesting if they would get both Robert Mathis and Matt Overton.

For Overton, it is nice to see that hard work and determination pays off as before he made it with the Colts, he was cut by a team in the UFL which caused him to wonder if his playing days in the NFL were over. Remember, only 32 long snappers are in the NFL and it isn’t hard to find one as well.
