Colts WR Darrius Heyward-Bey injured and will miss at least a week

Colts WR Darrius Heyward-Bey has seen his role diminished as other Colts WRs like Griff Whalen, LaVon Brazill and Da’Rick Rogers have contributed greatly late in the season. Heyward-Bey’s role has diminished to a point where he is primarily playing in special teams. Good news is that he’s been pretty good in that role. Bad news is that he won’t be on special teams for at least a week because of a hamstring injury.

Colts head coach Chuck Pagano confirmed that Heyward-Bey will miss about a week and maybe even more via Kevin Bowen of colts.com. Looks like if Heyward-Bey can’t come back for the postseason then the Chiefs vs. Colts game will be his last game in a Colts uniform.

If Heyward-Bey is placed on the IR and if the Colts go deep in the playoffs then newly signed Colts WR Deion Branch will have a much bigger role in the offense.
