NFL Playoff Scenarios For Week 16 of the 2013 Season

John+Abraham+Seattle+Seahawks+v+Arizona+Cardinals+SAsMcbvCH9ylDenver Broncos: Clinch the AFC West and a first-round bye with a win over the Houston Texans and a Kansas City Chiefs loss to the Indianapolis Colts. The Broncos can also clinch home-field advantage throughout the playoffs if that scenario plays out and the New England Patriots’ loss/tie to the Baltimore Ravens.

Kansas City Chiefs: Clinch home-field advantage and the AFC West with wins in their final two games and a Denver Broncos loss in the final two weeks of the season. If Kansas City doesn’t win the AFC West, it is guaranteed the No. 5 overall seed in the AFC as the wildcard team with the best record.

New England Patriots: Clinch AFC East with a win over the Baltimore Ravens or a Miami Dolphins loss/tie to the Buffalo Bills. Can also clinch a first-round bye with a win as well as losses or ties by the Cincinnati Bengals and Indianapolis Colts. Another avenue to a first-round bye is a Patriots tie couple with losses by the Bengals and Colts.

Cincinnati Bengals: Clinch AFC North with a win over the Minnesota Vikings and Ravens loss/tie to the Patriots. A Bengals tie and Ravens loss will also clinch the division.

Baltimore Ravens: Clinch a playoff spot with a win over New England and a Dolphins loss to the Bills and a San Diego Chargers loss to the Oakland Raiders.

Seattle Seahawks: Clinch NFC West title and home-field advantage with either a win over the Arizona Cardinals or a San Francisco 49ers loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

New Orleans Saints: Clinch NFC South and a first-round bye with a win over the Carolina Panthers. New Orleans also has multiple opportunities to clinch a playoff spot, even if it loses this week. A Seahawks victory over the Arizona Cardinals is the likeliest scenario here. The rest of New Orleans’ playoff-clinching scenarios take into account multiple ties.

Carolina Panthers: Clinch playoff spot with a win over New Orleans or losses by both Arizona and San Francisco. Cannot clinch NFC South, even with a win in Week 16.

San Francisco 49ers: Clinch playoff spot with a Seahawks win over Arizona. If the Cardinals pull an upset, San Francisco can clinch the following day with a victory over the Atlanta Falcons.

Philadelphia Eagles: Clinch NFC East with a win over the Chicago Bears and a Dallas Cowboys loss/tie to the Washington Redskins. Can also clinch the division title with a tie and a Cowboys loss.

Chicago Bears: Clinch NFC North with a win over Philadelphia, a loss or tie by the Detroit Lions and a Green Bay Packers loss.
