Tennessee Titans vs. Arizona Cardinals Preview

The 5-8 Tennessee Titans are hosting the 8-5 Arizona Cardinals on Sunday. The Titans have lost 4 out of the last 5 and are hanging by dear life for the Playoffs. They are facing a surging Cardinals team who have won 5 of 6 and are only a game back of the Panthers and 49ers of a Wild Card spot.

Titans Injury Report:

They are a few key players on the Titans Injury report all practiced in full on Friday. That includes starting offensive lineman Andy Levitre (Hip), Ben Schwenke (Ankle) and David Stewart (Shoulder). All 3 guys are listed as Probable and will play today.

Delanie Walker had a week full of practice and will be back this week after missing last week due to a concussion.

On the Defensive side of the ball the Titans should be good to go with Starting OLB Akeem Ayers (Groin) listed as questionable after a full day of practice on Friday.

Alterraun Verner who is coming off a season high 9 tackle and 3 PDEF against the Broncos. He missed practice twice this week but was a full participate on Friday and he is listed as Questionable with the groin injury but should start today.

Key Matchup:

Delaine Walker vs. Arizona LB

The Arizona LB crew hasn’t been very good against the tight end this season. They have given up 84 receptions for 1115 yards and 14 touchdowns to opposing tight ends. Walker is back after missing last week due to a concussion and should help Fitzpatrick and the Titans open up the passing game some more this week. If Fitzpatrick can take advantage of this matchup they will have a good chance on upsetting the Cardinals this week.

I think we are going to have a low-scoring affair between these two teams with good defenses. If the Titans can keep red-hot Carson Palmer in check they should have a good shot at winning this football game but I don’t see them doing that this week. The Cardinals will expose inability to stop the run and prevail 21-16.
