Colts Win AFC South Title

The Indianapolis Colts had two scenarios to win the AFC South division on Sunday. One of those scenarios was to win on the road against the Cincinnati Bengals. That failed as the Colts lost to the Bengals with a score of 28-42.

However, the Colts also could win the AFC South with the help of former Colts QB Peyton Manning and the Denver Broncos. If division rival Tennessee Titans losses against the Denver Broncos on Sunday, then the Colts would win the AFC South division. Well the Titans lost to the Broncos of a score 28-51.

The Colts haven’t won the AFC South division title since 2010 which was the last year of Peyton Manning wearing a Colts uniform (In 2011, Manning did not play that year). Since then, the Colts went through the infamous 2-14 season during the 2011-2012 season which involved a fire sell which included players like TE Dallas Clark to be released and even organization leaders like former GM Bill Polian to be fired.

Since the dreadful 2-14 season, the Colts went 11-5 during the 2012-2013 season which they went one-and-out in the playoffs. The Colts are already 8-5 in the 2013-2014 season with already clinching a home playoff game against the number five seed if the Colts don’t move back to the number three seed.

The Colts are now trying to improve their seeding. It is going to be hard for the Colts to improve their seeding as the Patriots and Bengals won on Sunday. Hopefully the Colts can end the season with a win or winning streak so they can enter the playoffs hot.
