Week 13 Fantasy Reactions

BYE: NONE

Packers vs Lions: Nate Burleson; This sleeper pick cost me in my most important fantasy league; a big, fat zero just isn’t going to cut it this late in the year. More an anomaly than anything, but you have to love the amount of offense the Lions created only to have their No. 2 WR not end up with even a little bit. Packers owners should be on watch with whether Green Bay shuts down Aaron Rodgers for the year, and if Mike McCarthy decides to go back to Scott Tolzien, who despite being prone to turnovers was at least was able to move the chains.

Raiders vs Cowboys: Rod Streater; Andre Holmes? Sure, I saw that one coming. Overall, not a particularly productive day for the Raiders, even for Rashad Jennings whose overall line was saved by 2 TDs. Tony Romo’s typical Thanksgiving cornucopia of fantasy points also took a tip despite having a good REAL day (it would have been good to know he had the flu BEFORE the game, though).

Steelers vs Ravens: Jacoby Jones; Apparently, you trust Torrey Smith AND Justin Tucker.

Jaguars vs Browns: Mike Brown; I did wonder how Joe Haden would cover Cecil Shorts out of the slot, but I didn’t expect Ace Sanders to supplant Mike Brown. Anyone wondering where you’re drafting Josh Gordon next year?

Buccaneers vs Panthers: Brandon LaFell; Barely, but continue playing No. 2’s against the Bucs. Nothing really important to report from this game.

Bears vs Vikings: Josh McCown; Another pick that killed me in my most important league, but more because he was playing against ME. The incompetence from both teams in OT was mind-boggling. Also, is Alshon Jeffrey in the same conversation as Josh Gordon?

Patriots vs Texans: Brandon Bolden; Ben Tate is back on the map as the Texans primary RB but the Patriots backfield will continue to be muddled with Stevan Ridley likely still in the mix, despite being a healthy scratch for the game. The emergence of Julian Edelman makes things difficult for Danny Amendola owners.

Titans vs Colts: Kendall Wright; Is anyone really paying attention to the Colts backfield anymore? What happens to Trent Richardson in next year’s draft?

Dolphins vs Jets: Dolphins D/ST; Safe to say that Geno Smith was overrated in this year’s draft? Does anyone actually believe he can improve?

Cardinals vs Eagles: Carson Palmer; With his remaining schedule, Nick Foles is a legit QB1.

Falcons vs Bills: Roddy White; A much higher-scoring affair than I imagined, but welcome back, Roddy.

Rams vs 49ers: Kendall Hunter; The way Zac Stacy ran against the 49ers, you have to start having some pretty good feelings about him next year, with or without Sam Bradford as his quarterback.

Bengals vs Chargers: Ladarius Green; Rather surprised the Chargers didn’t put up more of a fight, but apparently injuries only make the Bengals defense stingier.

Broncos vs Chiefs: Anthony Fasano; The one game I choose not to believe in Eric Decker.

Giants vs Redskins: Giants D/ST; Kyle Shanahan is the new Mike Martz, and his play-calling his single-handedly getting his franchise quarterback killed.

Saints vs Seahawks: Marques Colston; Darrell Bevell isn’t much better as an offensive coordinator, as the Seahawks are definitely becoming Russell Wilson’s team rather than Marshawn Lynch’s, and provided they were playing at home, when Seattle needs to kick it up a notch, just “wow.”

Always remember: Start your studs, play the match-ups, and don’t be afraid to make the trade!
