Cowboys took back over first place in the NFC East when Dan Bailey split the uprights with no time left on the clock as Giants fans watched in disgust. This was a sloppy game for both teams. Both teams were called for 11 penalties a piece for 80 plus yards and both offenses had over 300 yards.
The key difference in this game was with the game on the line the Cowboys had their quarterback on the field. Dallas had a methodical drive that ran out the clock. Dallas got the ball back after Eli Manning and the offense tied the game up at 21.
For the most part the Giants did all the talking leading up to this game including Jason Pierre-Paul’s comments. “It’s going to be a fight. It’s going to be a dogfight. There’s going to be a lot of blood spilled out there.”
After the game was over Jason Hatcher posted this picture on his instagram. The caption on the photo “They say blood would be shed. Just finished eating a giant. #actionspeaklouderthanwords” The Cowboys let their actions do all the talking as they took back over first place. With a win over the Redskins on December 22nd and they will hold all of the tiebreakers.
Orlando Scandrick wouldn’t be quiet after the game though. He had some comments for Pierre-Paul, Terrell Thomas and Mike Ditka. Terrell Thomas said earlier in the week “No doubt we’re gonna win this game. You can tell ’em, put it on the bulletin board, doesn’t matter.”
Scandrick on Giants: “Never in my life have I heard a 4-6 team talk like that. Talk, talk, talk. We had a better record and didn’t talk.”

Scandrick on pregame midfield scum: “That’s just the New York Giants being the Giants. You think you’re going to scare us by staring at us?”

Scandrick: “Jason Pierre-Paul was like, ‘There will be bloodshed.’ C’mon, man. Did he even have a stat on the final stat sheet?”

Scandrick: “Ditka said we couldn’t cover Cruz. Cruz had 1 catch on me that he fumbled, and it was returned for a touchdown.”

Scandrick is friends with Terrell Thomas from SoCal, said he went to Thomas after the game and told him, “Don’t talk like that, just play.”

Unfortunately these two teams won’t meet again this season. It is always entertaining when these two get together. Dallas is now back in control of their destiny.
