Indianapolis Colts 53-Man Roster and Practice Squad Transactions

coltsRoster moves have been done as of September 1, 2013 at 2:35 p.m. central time.

According to coltsauthority.com, the following players have been cut or waived yesterday: “OLB-Daniel Adongo, S-Larry Asante, C-Thomas Austin, CB-Marshay Green, DE-Lawrence Guy, QB-Chandler Harnish, FB-Robert Hughes, T-Ben Ijalana, TE-Dominique Jones, WR-Jeremy Kelley, LB-Josh McNary, DT-Drake Nevis, CB-Sheldon Price, WR-Jabin Sambrano, WR-Lanear Sampson, LB-Monte Simmons, T-Bradley Sowell, NT-Martin Tevaseu and T-Lee Ziemba. The team also waived-injured T-Emmett Cleary, LB-Shawn Loiseau and CB-Daxton Swanson.” If Cleary, Loiseau and Swanson go through the waiver process without being claimed by any team then they will revert back to the Colts injury reserve.

With these cuts to the 75-man roster, the Colts had reached the 53-man roster requirement as of yesterday.

However that is not all of the moves that the Colts had made. According to Pro Football Talk, the Colts waived RB Kerwynn Williams to claim former Tennessee Titan TE Jack Doyle earlier today.

Also, the Colts had signed to the practice squad: “linebacker Daniel Adongo, center Thomas Austin, quarterback Chandler Harnish, tight end Dominique Jones, linebacker Josh McNary, and cornerback Sheldon Price,” via PFT.

Knowing the Colts offseason moves, I wouldn’t be surprise if the Colts are still going to be active in the waiver wire. Therefore, even though some of the players made it to the 53-man roster, it doesn’t mean that their roster spot is secure yet.
