#32 Overall The Baltimore Ravens Select…

By PFC Draft Writer David Willemssen @DavidWillemssen

S Matt Elam

One of my favorite players in this draft he reminds me of Eric Berry at Tennessee. Elam plays all over the field and is aggressive against the run. He lines up at the scrimmage and on the slot. He was not asked to play deep safety often at Florida but displayed he can back pedal read and react at his proday. He’s a great tackler in the open field and can really lay a hit on players. He does go for the big knock out hit to often and can whfiff on it. Elam is a steal in this draft for the Ravens, and he quickly fills one of the spots left by Bernard Pollard and Ed Reed. He’ll play more like Pollard in the Ravens scheme.
