The Green Bay Packers and star linebacker Clay Matthews have agreed to a contract extension this afternoon. Matthews’ new deal is 5-years, $66 million (roughly $13.2 million per year). The new deal makes Matthews the highest paid linebacker in the NFL earning him slightly more than Cowboys’ linebacker DeMarcus Ware ($13 million per year). Matthews is now locked up in Green Bay until the 2018 season.
