Chris Denton 3

NFL Rookie Draft Series by PFC Blogger Chris Brown (@cbreezy2411)

As part of the rookie’s blogs here at ProFootballCentral we continue to talk with potential NFL hopefuls. Today we had a chance to catch up with Mount Union Wide Receiver Chris Denton about his recent Super Regional Combine experience.

CB: Hey Chris, how did the Super Regional Combine go for you this past week?

CD: I felt it went great and I performed well during the drills.  I did very well in the position drills and was catching pretty much every ball that was thrown my way, I believe I had one drop throughout the entire day.  My route running was good, I felt as if I was coming out of my breaks really good as well.

CB: Is there anything you felt you really stood out in, whether it’s a particular drill or session?

CD:   I would definitely have to say my route running again.  I felt I was fast running them, there were about 32 receivers at the combine and I feel I was able to give myself some more exposure during those times.  I believe that I could have turned a few heads during the drills.  I was making great plays and hopefully I was opening a few scouts’ eyes to my abilities during that time.

CB: How would you compare this experience to your past regional combine experience a few weeks ago?

CD: I feel it was a better experience for me because I had a lot of time to train for it.  I felt I was more confident and I was in my own zone out there, I was focused on trying to make my numbers better on each drill.

CB: What’s next? Any private workouts scheduled in the week’s leading up to the draft?

CD: Honestly, just working out and praying that I get an opportunity. It’s not going to stop me from working out though; I will continue to get better each day.  If a team picks me up I can promise that they won’t be mad about their pick and that I’ll give it my all and nothing less.  I will do whatever it takes to get out on that field and I want to display that to them every time I touch the field.
