Here are some quick news and notes about the Bucs and what they’ve been up to since free agency started, and the rumors swirling around them.
•The deal for Dashon Goldson is for 5 years, $41.25 million, with $22 million guaranteed.
•The Bucs are still waiting for the Jets to make the move in the proposed Darrelle Revis trade. Bucs management is said to be “fully on board” for any deal that would involve Revis. A trade between the Bucs and Jets would probably be along the lines of the one the Vikings made with the Seahawks for Percy Harvin. The Bucs could be giving up their second round pick this year, or their first round pick next year to bring Revis Island south.
•The Bucs are still looking at free agent Brent Grimes, who has yet to sign with a team, as previously reported.
•Former Saints linebacker Jonathan Casillas was signed to a one year, $3 million deal.
•Leon Washington has been in talks with the Bucs. The running back/kick returner from Seattle was released after the Seahawks acquired Percy Harvin, and Washington told Ross Tucker on Sirius XM NFL Radio that the Bucs actually tried to trade for him before his release. The Tampa Bay Times reports that the Bucs have been in contact with Washington since his release.
