What’s the Plan?

It is early in free agency and the Redskins have signed a punter. Yes I know it doesn’t seem like much but this is the same guy who holds for Kai Forbath and is a skilled punter. It seems small but this is big in the special teams department. We all know that the area of biggest concern is the secondary. As we talked about yesterday the Skins let Hall walk do to his cap number so there’s a huge void to fill.

So what’s the plan for the Skins? With only 3 million or so in cap space who can they sign? First things first I know there has been a lot of news surrounding cornerback DeAngelo Hall.

There has been sources that have had him with the Detriot Lions and then have teams like NYG,DAL,NE,ATL,MIN,TB are so called players in the D Hall sweepstakes.

I spoke with @Rich_TandlerCSN via Twitter concerning the news on Mr. Hall. This is what he had to say” Nope, nothing new. His agent is doing a good job of convincing the media that there’s interest in him.” The Redskins plan to let Hall hit the market and see what his value is could be all the lavage they need to possibly bring him back. Hall played solid here for the Redskins and would be someone to help bridge the gap for a few more years.

Second option is for the Skins to wait it out and let the market settle down not over paying (because they have very little money to spend) and getting some bargains to fill the spot Hall vacates. Guys like Leodis McKelvin, CB, Sean Smith, CB, Captain Munnerlyn, CB Kyle Arrington, CB Aqib Talib, CB, Just to name a few, if these guys are available. The Redskins may not make the big splash but they will do what is necessary to keep this team moving forward.
