Redskins Secondary Takes a Big Hit

By PFC Redskins Blogger Dujunnea Bland

The Washington Redskins released cornerback DeAngelo Hall due to his 8 million dollar cap number. Hall was expected to either be released or having his contract restructured. It appears that the Redskins didn’t even attempt to have talks to restructure Halls contract.

Reports from 106.7 the fan in Washington alludes to the fact that Hall didn’t want to restructure.
What is clear threw DeAngelo’s statement is that they didn’t want to let him go but really their hands were tied. Hall said “I understand the business side of things,” Hall said. “I thanked him for the opportunity and wished them luck. Mike said he really felt bad because I had done everything they asked. Kept getting better, kept working hard, kept leading. So he really felt bad. I told him I understand the business side of things. I just wish it had happened sooner than later. But it came down the wire. But Mike did reach out to me.”

This is a huge loss to the Redskins secondary; yes there are a lot of fans that are saying good riddance to Mr. Hall. I say are you smoking dope. This guy was the glue that held the secondary together especially in the second half of the year. Hall Shutdown Dez Bryant in week 17. Josh Wilson is the number #1 corner on this team as of today. REALLY?!?. Look at the tape this guy was found on his face more than making plays last year. In the meantime receivers are getting tons of yack on him. CHILD PLEASE!!!

Notice a quote from Straight Shooting Sports talk supporter Simone Love and I quote “Josh Wilson our #1 CB right now….yippppeeeeee! Secondary went from very bad to worse at this point! Maybe after Hall test the market he still comes back for less money or the Front office has a better plan!”

I couldn’t agree more and it appears that the front office has a plan. What could that plan be? Tune in to tomorrow to find out the possible plan the Skins could be implementing.
