Miami Dolphins’ Jake Long wants $11M per year

It’s unclear what the market will be Dolphins’ left tackle Jake Long. The former first overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft has been hampered by injuries and inconsistent play over the majority of the last two seasons. Even with the struggles he has had the last few seasons, Long still beliefs he should continue to be paid as much as an elite player at his position would be. NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reported Sunday that Long is looking for about $11 million annually for his next contract. It’s doubtful the Dolphins pay the 27-year-old anywhere near that, so it looks like, for now, that Jake Long will have a new home in 2013.
