Harbaugh Wants Team To Resign Goldson

San Francisco 49ers head coach Jim Harbaugh said Tuesday, Feb. 5, that he feels the team should reward impending free-agent SS Dashon Goldson with a long-term contract. “He’s somebody that I think you reward,” Harbaugh said. “You know he’s out there, and opposing offenses know that he’s out there. He tackles and does everything that you’d want a safety to do.” The team might place a franchise tag on Goldson, but they could very well work up a long-term deal that averages $8 million a year that would be structured in a way to create salary cap space in 2013.
