Jaguars get much needed secondary help

Aaron Ross

The Jaguars have boosted the depth in which they have in the secondary by signing former Giant, Aaron Ross to a 3 year deal worth up to $15.3M. Outside of Rashean Mathis and Derek Cox, the Jags were hurting for backup at the Cornerback position. Lets face it, Mathis is getting towards the end of his career and Cox can’t seem to stay healthy. That is just the truth and I am one of the biggest Jags fans around. Ross now has a chance to compete for a starting spot and will give an extra security blanket on defense.

Last year for the Giants, Ross had 4 INT’s, 12 pass deflections, 46 total tackles and 14 assists. Those are some of the stats that the Jaguars will really need him to put up this year. Hopefully Mathis and Cox can stay healthy so they can have a three-headed monster against the opposing offenses they face this year.
