Saints Release DT Brian Young

The New Orleans Saints released defensive tackle Brian Young on Tuesday. Young, a nine-year veteran out of UTEP, spent the last five seasons with the Saints. In 2008, he played in eight games — three starts — and recorded 13 tackles and a sack. “This was a very difficult decision to make,” said Saints general manager Mickey Loomis. “Brian is one of the hardest working individuals I have ever met, and I have as much respect for him as any player I have ever been associated with. We will miss his passion for the game.”
