Redskins Expected To Release Marcus Washington

The Washington Redskins are expected to release former Pro Bowl linebacker Marcus Washington according to the Washington Post.  If released, Washington would save the team $4 million in cap space (a $2 million dead cap feee remains from a signing bonus proration, but his salary is off the books). Washington was very popular with fans and teammates alike, but could not get on the field with regularity and had a difficult time making plays in 2008.
