Jaguars Hire Mel Tucker

A report in the Cleveland Plain Dealer indicates that the Jaguars have hired Mel Tucker as their new defensive coordinator. Tucker was the Cleveland Browns’ defensive coordinator in 2008 after spending the three previous seasons as the team’s defensive backs coach. Prior to his tenure in Cleveland, Tucker was the defensive backs coach and co-defensive coordinator at Ohio State University from 2001-2004. He was LSU’s defensive backs coach in 2000, Miami of Ohio’s defensive backs coach in 1999, and a graduate assistant at Michigan State in 1997 and 1998.
