Browns Deal With Mangini Imminent?

Tony Grossi, of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, reports indications are that a deal between the Cleveland Browns and former New York Jets head coach Eric Mangini for the Browns’ head coaching position is imminent. The Browns have had discussions with Mangini beyond their formal interview, according to a source. Those talks have continued with the understanding that owner Randy Lerner would complete his search process before closing a deal. According to the source, the search is on hold at this point, possibly because the Browns have not been able to interview Baltimore Ravens director of player personnel George Kokinis, who is Mangini’s close friend, yet since the Ravens are still in the playoffs.
