Tressel Says He Has No Interest In Browns Job

Ohio State coach Jim Tressel’s name came up in some media circles on Monday as being a possible candidate for head coach of the Cleveland Browns, who had just fired Romeo Crennel. Tressel said he is not interested the Columbus Dispatch reports.  In fact, he was terse in his responding text message as he otherwise is preparing his Buckeyes for their Jan.5 Fiesta Bowl vs. Texas. He had been asked whether he had any interest whatsoever in the Browns’ job. “No!!” he texted back. He has a contract through 2012 at Ohio State that, after it was reworked this past August, will pay him about $3.5 million per year for the duration.
