Tomlinson Has Torn Tendon In Groin

San Diego Chargers running back LaDainian Tomlinson has a torn tendon and is listed as a game-time decision for tonight’s AFC wild-card playoff game against the Indianapolis Colts. ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reports Tomlinson will attempt to play after he tests the injury during pregame warmups. The injury, a detached tendon that connects the muscle to the pubic bone, can affect Tomlinson’s ability to make sharp cuts on the field. NFL Network’s Adam Schefter reports doctors recommended Tomlinson have surgery this week. Tomlinson, 29, finished the 2008 regular season averaging 3.8 rushing yards per carry on 1,110 yards and 11 touchdowns.
