Ferentz Thinks Pioli May Stay Put In NE

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz, who the Boston Herald calls Scott Pioli’s top choice to replace Romeo Crennel if he lands in Cleveland, doesn’t believe Pioli is a lock to leave his current position in New England. Ferentz and Pioli are very close, having worked together under Bill Belichick. “I caution everybody: Don’t try to predict what Scott is going to do,” Ferentz said. “He’s got a great job right where he’s at.” Pioli seemed near certain to join the Browns at this time Wednesday, but the chances of him leaving Foxboro may be slimming. He didn’t bite on his most recent interview and is definately listening to other offers.
