Broncos Reach Out To Oklahoma Coach Stoops

The Denver Broncos have formally reached out to Oklahoma University’s Bob Stoops, most likely regarding their head-coaching vacancy. Stoops’ Sooners face Florida in the Jan. 8 BCS Championship, so it’s quite unlikely that he’d meet with an NFL team before then. While he’s been highly successful in the Big 12 (34-7 in his last three seasons), Stoops has no experience working in the pros. A defensive mind, Stoops is currently Division I’s second highest paid head coach, behind only Alabama’s Nick Saban.
