Pittsburgh Steelers LB James Harrison (foot) returned to practice Thursday, Dec. 18.

Gore Expected To Be Questionable For Week 16

Matt Maiocco, of The Santa Rosa Press Democrat, reports San Francisco 49ers RB Frank Gore (ankle) missed the team’s practice Thursday, Dec. 18, and he is expected to be questionable for the team’s Week 16 game.

Lovie: Forte Will Practice Friday, Face Pack

Chicago Bears coach Lovie Smith said Thursday that Matt Forte (toe) will practice on Friday and expects him to be available Monday night against Green Bay.Thank you Lovie. Smith says Forte was simply given the day off Thursday in an effort to get him fresh. Check back Friday to see if Forte is listed as questionable or probable, but clearly the Bears are confident that he’s going to play.

Cardinals Consider Sitting Boldin For Week 16

Arizona Cardinals coach Ken Whisenhunt acknowledged Thursday that he is considering sitting Anquan Boldin (shoulder) for Week 16. Whisenhunt wants to make sure Boldin is healthy for the postseason with the NFC West already clinched. Q sat out his second straight practice Thursday and is uncertain to play against New England.

Carson Palmer Hasn’t Ruled Out Tommy John Surgery

Carson Palmer reiterated Thursday that he has not ruled out undergoing Tommy John surgery on his throwing elbow. “There is somewhat of a timeline,” Palmer said. “I don’t want to wait too long. Within the next couple weeks I’ll know. I’ll have another MRI, and we’ll check it out.” The Bengals continue to say Palmer doesn’t need surgery, but he’s singing a different tune.

Oakland Likely To Be Minus Both Starting WRs

Ronald Curry (turf toe) and Ashley Lelie (calf) have been “all but ruled out” for Week 16, according to ESPN’s John Clayton. It looks like JaMarcus Russell’s starting receivers will be kick returner Johnnie Lee Higgins and rookie Chaz Schilens against the Texans. Banged up tight end Zach Miller.

Trent Edwards Returns, Losman To Third String

Trent Edwards (groin) returned to practice on Wednesday and is “ready to make his first start in three weeks,” according to the AP. The Bills have also demoted J.P. Losman to third string, behind Edwards and NFL Europe veteran Gibran Hamdan.

Pat Williams Out 2-6 Weeks With Fractured Shoulder

Minnesota Vikings defensive tackle Pat Williams will miss anywhere from two to six weeks with a fractured shoulder. Williams was hurt Sunday in a 35-14 rout of Arizona.

Chiefs GM Resigns After 20-Year Tenure

Kansas City Chiefs president and general manager Carl Peterson has resigned, effective at the end of the season. Owner Clark Hunt confirmed the resignation Monday. Peterson took over in 1989.

Jackson To Start Sunday For Vikings

Tarvaris Jackson has reclaimed his starting spot at quarterback for the Minnesota Vikings. The team announced the move on Thursday, and coach Brad Childress said the decision has nothing to do with the health of Gus Frerotte and everything to do with the way Jackson has played the last two weeks.
