Jauron Reportedly Signs Extension

ESPN.com reports Buffalo Bills head coach Dick Jauron signed a contract extension with the team Sunday, Dec. 14, according to sources. The deal runs through the 2011 season.

Cowboys Defense Dominates In Week 15

ESPN.com reports the Dallas Cowboys defense recorded eight sacks and two interceptions in Week 15. LB DeMarcus Ware had three sacks in the game.

Haynesworth Injury Update

The Tennessean reports Tennessee Titans DL Albert Haynesworth (leg) will undergo an MRI Monday, Dec. 15. “It looked like, seeing him on the field and hearing his moans and groans, it sounds like he is going to be out for (a while),” DL Jevon Kearse said. “But seeing him walking around the training room just now it looks very promising. I know when I had my major injury (a torn ACL) a couple of years ago there was no way I was going to be walking any. So I know it is not that bad at least.”

Ware Pushes Sack Lead To 19

The Associated Press reports Dallas Cowboys LB DeMarcus Ware recorded three sacks Sunday, Dec. 14, against the New York Giants. He now has a league-leading 19 sacks on the season.

Romo’s Back An Issue?

The Associated Press reports Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (back) was banged up during Week 15, as he was sacked four times by the New York Giants. He was taken down back-to-back at the end of the first quarter, which left him wincing in pain with a back problem. He remained in the game despite the problem.

Molden Breaks Ankle In Week 15

CBSSports.com reports Houston Texans CB Antwaun Molden (ankle) suffered a broken ankle in the team’s Week 15 game. He will miss the rest of the season.

Vince Young Gets Owner’s Vote Of Confidence

Titans Owner Bud Adams expressed confidence last week that Vince Young will return and take over as the Titans’ starter again, possibly next season. “He is still growing up,” Adams said. “Vince is under contract for three more years, so he is not going anywhere.” Adams believes Young’s early-year struggles in 2008 were due to his inability to digest sudden adversity after being a “winner” all his life.

Jackson’s 4 TDs Lead Vikings

Minnesota Vikings QB Tarvaris Jackson completed 11-of-17 passes for 163 yards and four touchdowns in Week 15 against the Cardinals. Jackson was nearly flawless starting in place of the injured Gus Frerotte, lobbing a nice deep ball down the sideline for Bernard Berrian’s 41-yard touchdown and pump faking Roderick Hood out of his cleats before hitting Bobby Wade for a 59-yard score on a nifty double move. Combined with his work in relief of Frerotte last week Jackson is 19-of-27 for 268 yards and five scores in his last six quarters of football, which should be more than enough to get him the start against Atlanta next week.

Peterson Rushes For 165 Yards In Win Over AZ

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson rushed 28 times for 165 yards in Week 15 against the Cardinals. Peterson topped 100 yards midway through the second quarter, reaching that mark for the ninth time this season to set a new Vikings team record. He also broke Robert Smith’s franchise mark for rushing yards in a season with an NFL-leading 1,581 while posting his fifth 150-yard effort in just 28 career games
