Winslow To Have MRI Monday

Scott Petrak, of the Medina County Gazette, reports Cleveland Browns TE Kellen Winslow (ankle) is having an MRI on his injured ankle Monday, Dec. 1. The team is hoping the injury is not a high ankle sprain.

Romo’s Splint Is Gone

Tim MacMahon, of The Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo (finger) practiced Monday, Dec. 1, without the splint that had been protecting his fractured right pinkie.

A. Jones To See Action In Week 14

Tim MacMahon, of The Dallas Morning News, reports Dallas Cowboys head coach Wade Phillips said CB Adam Jones will see time in defensive sub packages and as a punt returner in Week 14. Jones could return kicks in the game, as well.

Concussion Lands Furrey On Injured Reserve

Detroit Lions placed WR Mike Furrey (concussion) on injured reserve, ending his season. After ripping off 98 grabs for Mike Martz in 2006, Furrey’s catch totals have steadily dropped from 68 in 2007 to just 18 this season. While Furrey would be worth the $1.85 million salary he’s due in 2009, a new Lions coaching staff may want to go in another direction.

Jackson Denies Claim That He Has ‘Gassed’

St Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson denied coach Jim Haslett’s post-game claim that “he was gassed” in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s loss to the Dolphins. “No, I wasn’t gassed,” said Jackson. “I had 21 carries and felt great. So, it wasn’t me and my conditioning. I wish (Haslett) would stop saying that.” S-Jax went on to say that it was “definitely frustrating” to be pulled in the fourth quarter of a close game and that he didn’t understand the move.

Burress Turns Himself In To NYC Authorities

New York Giants WR Plaxico Burress turned himself in to New York City police early Monday morning. Burress reportedly walked ably and without crutches as he made his way inside the station. He did not acknowledge members of the media, nor did he respond to a shout of “Plaxico!” Burress is expected to plead not guilty to charges of criminal possession of a firearm and reckless endangerment, both felonies.

Bears NT Dvoracek Likely Lost For The Season

Bears coach Lovie Smith described NT Dusty Dvoracek’s arm injury as “serious” in his post-game press conference Sunday. According to the Chicago Sun Times, Dvoracek is “likely” lost for the season.

Report: Torry Holt Begged Out Of Game

According to the South Florida Sun-Sentinel, there was talk on the sidelines of Torry Holt “begging out” of Sunday’s Dolphins-Rams game. Of course the Miami media has this situation better covered than the St. Louis rags. It’s uncertain why Holt was begging out, but he played without any passion despite being the Rams’ most oft-targeted receiver.
