Singletary’s Agent Negotiating New Contract

Next Level Scouting reports the agent for San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Mike Singletary, Bob LaMonte, is negotiating a new contract for his client that will pay him according as he becomes the new head coach for the 49ers. Singletary is expected to be named the team’s head coach Tuesday, Oct. 21.

Martz Expected To Remain Offensive Coordinator

Next Level Scouting reports San Francisco 49ers offensive coordinator Mike Martz is expected to remain the team’s offensive coordinator for the rest of the season.

Singletary Promoted To Head Coach

Chris Mortensen, of ESPN, reports the San Francisco 49ers have promoted defensive coordinator Mike Singletary to be the team’s new head coach.

Nolan Fired Late Monday

Jay Glazer, of FOXSports.com, reports San Francisco 49ers head coach Mike Nolan was fired late Monday, Oct. 20. It is assumed defensive coordinator Mike Singletary will take over coaching duties. Earlier reports said Nolan would be fired after the Week 8 game, but ownership instead decided not to wait.
