Nicholas J. Cotsonika, of the Detroit Free Press, reports Detroit Lions head coach Rod Marinelli will not quit as the team’s head coach, but he will not argue if he is fired. “I always look at authority, and I respect authority — which a lot of times doesn’t happen in this country,” Marinelli said at his press conference Monday, Oct. 6. “I look at authority, and I take my marching orders from there.” Marinelli spoke with owner William Clay Ford over the team’s Week 4 bye, but Marinelli’s long-term future did not come up.
