May 13th, 2008 · No Comments

ProFootballCentral.com will be the exclusive home of many NFL players who will be doing weekly blogs. In this series we will be highlighting the blog of Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Jaymar Johnson. With their sixth-round pick, Johnson, the Jackson State wide receiver who caught 36 passes for 613 yards and seven touchdowns last season, became the 193rd player selected in the NFL Draft.

My experience during the draft

During and leading up to the draft, I mainly focused on working out. My brother came in town to help me keep my mind off the draft. I wasn’t stressed or expecting big things from the draft. I was more concerned about being mentally and physically prepared for when it was time to report to rookie camp.

Camp experience

I loved rookie camp, all day long it was football football football. We wake up for meetings, then practice, than workout and than more meetings. I thought it was great, during my experience during the practice was cool as well. The main thing was getting acclimated to there system (it wasn’t hard, it was just new).

Whats going on now

Im training harder and studying the info that i learned while i was in camp. Everyday has been the same thing, which is waking up early, eating healthy, working out and running hard, studying, and working on my overall game (PR,KR,WR)
