Source Belicheck May Face Year Long Suspension

May 8th, 2008 · No Comments

New England Patriots head coach Bill Belicheck may face a year long suspension from the NFL, if the tapes do indeed incriminate previous statements that the coach made to league officials, sources tell Pro Football Central. A report claims that the tapes sent by former Patriots video assistant Matt Walsh do show that the Patriots recorded the play-calling signals of five opponents in six games between 2000 and 2002. They included regular-season games against Miami, Buffalo, Cleveland and San Diego, and the January 2002 AFC championship game between Pittsburgh and New England. While the tapes reportedly include recordings of opponents’ offensive signals, an NFL official cited in Wednesdays Hartford Courant said Belichick did not admit to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell that the team taped offensive signals. Belichick had previously admitted to taping opponents’ defensive signals.
