Mike Garafolo, of The Star-Ledger, reports New York Giants TE Jeremy Shockey told the team in December he wanted a change in his role in the team’s offense or a trade to another team, according to a person familiar with discussions between Shockey, the team’s coaching staff and front office. The person said Shockey threatened to sit out the 2008 season if neither request was granted.
