Here are the Pros and Cons of Virginia defensive end Chris Long.By PFC Draft Writer Jonathan Zenk
Chris Long, DE, Virginia
Pros: Long has an amazing motor and reminds me a lot of Green Bay Packers defensive end Aaron Kampman. Long has long arms and is very active. He has very good size and is a natural leader. He is the son of former NFL great Howie Long. Long excels against the run and is very tough and strong. Long could either play in the 3-4 or 4-3 defense. He is a very good tackler and is very good in pursuit. He is also a very knowledgeable player.
Cons: Long is not the most explosive defensive lineman in the draft. He doesn’t have great speed and doesn’t have great quickness. Long isn’t the prototypical pass rusher that NFL scouts look for.
