Pros And Cons: Pittsburgh Tackle Jeff Otah

April 1st, 2008 · No Comments

Here are the Pros and Cons of Pittsburgh tackle Jeff Otah.

By PFC Draft Reporter Jonathon Zenk

Jeff Otah, OT, Pittsburgh
Pros:

Otah has improved his run blocking and can truly be dominant. He has great size and long arms. He is very strong and physical, not to mention he is one of the best athletes from this offensive line crop. Just like San Diego Chargers tight end Antonio Gates, Otah started out as a basketball player before switching over to football, so he is definitely raw. Out of the linemen in this draft, Otah probably has the most upside. He works hard and could develop into a very good player.

Cons:

Like I said, Otah is very raw and will need time to develop. He doesn’t have ideal foot speed and isn’t great against quick defenders. He sometimes plays with his pads too high and he also lacks explosiveness. Otah also needs to hit the weight room and get stronger.
