Here are the Pros and Cons of Illinois running back Rashard Mendenhall by PFC Draft reporter Jonathon Zenk.
Pros: Mendenhall has good speed and like McFadden, he has great vision to see the cutback lanes and the explosiveness to break away from defenders and the strength to run defenders over. His legs never stop moving and he earns every yard. He has a little bit better hands than McFadden. He runs low to the ground and is a patient runner and is a hard worker. He doesn’t have the wear and tear of some of the other backs in this class.
Cons: Mendenhall only really carried the full work load one season. He has struggled to hang onto the football. He doesn’t have great speed, but can break a long run like in the Rose Bowl.
