Vikings Add Two

March 20th, 2008 · No Comments

The Minnesota Vikings added depth to their defense on Thursday by signing safety Michael Boulware and defensive tackle Kenderick Allen. Boulware spent last year in Houston. The Texans acquired him in a trade with Seattle with the intent of making him the starter, but he was beat out in camp and played mostly on special teams. The Vikings needed another safety after parting ways with Dwight Smith and letting Tank Williams and Mike Doss leave in free agency. The 330-pound Allen hasn’t played in a regular-season game since September of 2006, when he was placed on the Packers’ injured reserve two games into the season. He signed with the Bengals in 2007 and spent the preseason in Cincinnati but didn’t make the regular season roster.
