Jim McKinnon, of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, reports Pittsburgh Steelers LB James Harrison was arrested Saturday, March 8, on charges that he assaulted his girlfriend. Harrison was arraigned on charges of simple assault and criminal mischief. According to the affidavit filed in support of the arrest, Beth Tibbott and Harrison were arguing at her residence when she locked herself in a bedroom. Harrison broke down the door and when Tibbott tried to call 911, he took her cell phone and broke it in half, according to the affidavit. Tibbott said he then hit her with an open hand in the face, knocking off her glasses. Police said her left cheek showed “red marks.”
